Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains in full how we handle your personal data, and our Terms of Use.

PrimeLedger Consultancy FZCO ("PrimeLedger", "we", "us", "our") operates the website at primeledgerconsultancy.com and the PrimeLedger Private client portal. This policy explains the cookies and similar browser technologies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them. We have kept it short because we use very little.

1. The short version

QuestionAnswer
Do you use advertising or tracking cookies? No. There are no advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.
Do you use analytics cookies? No. We do not run Google Analytics or any comparable third-party analytics cookie.
What cookies do you set, then?Only strictly necessary authentication cookies, set by our sign-in provider Clerk when you log in to the portal. See section 3.
What about my language and theme choice? Those are stored in your browser's own local storage, not in cookies, and never leave your device. See section 4.
Do I need to accept a cookie banner? No. Because the only cookies we set are strictly necessary for the site and portal to work, we do not ask you to consent to non-essential cookies — there are none.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise your browser on a later request — for example, to keep you signed in as you move between pages. Related technologies, such as a browser's local storage and session storage, do a similar job of remembering small pieces of information, but that information stays on your device and is not automatically sent back to a server with every request. We describe all of these below so you have the full picture, even where the technology is not, strictly speaking, a cookie.

3. Cookies we use

The only cookies set on this website are strictly necessary cookies required to run the secure client portal:

Set byPurposeCategory
Clerk (our authentication provider)Keeps you securely signed in to PrimeLedger Private as you move between pages, and protects the sign-in process against misuse. These are set only once you sign in to the portal.Strictly necessary

These cookies are essential: without them the portal cannot keep you logged in, so it cannot function. They are managed by Clerk on our behalf; we do not use them to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites. If you only browse the public website and never sign in, these cookies are not set.

4. Local storage and session storage (not cookies)

To make the site pleasant to use, we store a few small preferences and pieces of context in your browser's own storage rather than in cookies. This information stays on your device:

  • Language and theme. Your chosen language and light or dark appearance, so the site remembers them on your next visit. Held in local storage; never sent to us.
  • Portal interface preferences. Small flags such as whether you have dismissed the welcome guide or a notification, so we do not show them again. Held in local storage, tied to your session in the portal.
  • First-touch marketing attribution. When you arrive from a campaign or referring link, we note which campaign, referrer and landing page brought you, in session storage. It is held only for the current browser session and is submitted to us only if you choose to send an enquiry, so we can understand which channels are useful. It is first-party information and is not shared with advertising networks.

You can clear local and session storage at any time through your browser settings; doing so resets these preferences on your next visit.

5. Third-party cookies

We do not embed third-party advertising or social-media tracking pixels. The only third party that sets a cookie through this site is Clerk, which provides the sign-in and session security for the portal as described in section 3. Where you choose to sign in through a third-party identity provider (for example a Google or Microsoft account), that provider may set its own cookies under its own policy when you authenticate with it; we do not control those cookies, and you should refer to that provider's cookie policy for detail.

6. Your choices and how to manage cookies

Because we set only strictly necessary cookies, there is no non-essential cookie to switch off, and we do not show a consent banner. You remain in full control through your browser:

  • Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and clear local and session storage in their privacy or security settings.
  • Blocking or deleting the authentication cookies will sign you out of the portal and prevent you from signing back in until they are allowed again, because they are required for the portal to work.
  • Clearing local storage will reset your saved language, theme and interface preferences.

Blocking cookies does not affect your ability to read the public website, use the free calculators, or send us an enquiry.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the technologies we use change — for example, if we ever introduce an analytics tool. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and if we introduce any cookie that is not strictly necessary we will ask for your consent before setting it.
