Accounting & Bookkeeping
Bookkeeping records what a business has done; accounting turns those records into statements someone can rely on. In the UAE both now carry a compliance weight they did not before, because tax filings are built directly on them.
The reason books matter more than they used to is that VAT and Corporate Tax both compute off them. A return is only as defensible as the ledger underneath it, and errors that were once absorbed at year end now surface in a filing. That changes what a monthly close has to achieve: not just a set of numbers, but a reconciled position that a tax computation can be built on without rework.
A chart of accounts designed around reporting rather than convenience is most of that battle. Get the structure right and VAT categorisation, related-party identification and expense disallowance fall out of the ledger. Get it wrong and every filing period becomes a reconstruction exercise.
We run the ledger, the monthly close, bank and ledger reconciliations, receivables and payables, and the management reporting that comes off them — either as your finance function or alongside an internal team.

Common questions
Do we need to keep formal accounting records in the UAE?
Yes. Record-keeping obligations apply independently of whether tax is payable, and the records have to support what was filed. The practical question is usually not whether to keep them but whether they are structured well enough to file from.
Can you work alongside our existing accountant?
Yes. We commonly handle the close, reconciliations and reporting layer while an internal bookkeeper handles day-to-day entry, or take over the whole function where there is no internal team.
What does a monthly close actually involve?
Reconciling bank and ledger balances, settling receivables and payables positions, posting accruals and adjustments, and producing management figures — so the period is closed rather than merely recorded.
